🌈 OUR SPACE
Our Space WNC is exactly what it sounds like—yours. Born in the mountains of far Western North Carolina, we exist to create joyful, affirming spaces where LGBTQ+ folks and their allies can gather, celebrate, and belong. From seasonal meetups to our annual Pride celebration, every event we host is a reminder that queer joy has always had a home in these hills.
A Community
In rural Appalachia, it can feel like you're the only one. You're not. At Our Space WNC, we're building something real: a community of LGBTQ+ folks and allies who know these mountains, share this life, and show up for each other throughout the year. Our private Facebook group is a safe, welcoming space to stay connected between events.Membership is by invitation to protect the privacy and safety of our members. A Celebration
Once a year, we go all out. Our annual Pride celebration is Our Space WNC's biggest event—a joyful, community-driven gathering that brings together LGBTQ+ people and their allies from across far western North Carolina. Safe, intentional, and unapologetically celebratory, it's the event we all spend the rest of the year looking forward to.

We seek to mitigate the solitude that LGBTQ+ folks feel in rural communities by providing safe, fun, and meaningful events that help give opportunity to build friendships. We create moments of connection, celebration, and belonging so that no one in these hills has to navigate this life alone. From the first gathering of the year to our annual Pride celebration, there is always a seat at the table for you.
PRIDE 2026
This year's pride celebration will be held on Friday, June 26th at the Cherokee County Arts Council from 6:00-9:00 PM. It is free and open to the community. If you're interested on becoming a vendor or on more details, please check out our pride website or email [email protected].
